Alcohol Use?

Although alcohol in moderation is seen as perfectly acceptable and normal in today’s society it can
become extremely harmful and destructive when consumption starts to get out of control. The
problems are not isolated to the person ‘drinking’ but can destroy the lives of partners, children,
extended family, friends and in the case of accidents totally unrelated individuals.

The term Alcoholic is often seen as a negative label that can be perceived as being frowned upon by
society but in truth it is far more prevalent than statistics would have us believe.
Many people find themselves in a situation where the occasional drink became a nightly stress relief,
which became a daily bottle or then two.

Quickly they become uneasy not having a drink so make
excuses to have a drink. Soon alcohol is seen as a reward when they have done well, a crutch when
they are stressed or anxious, conciliation when something goes wrong. Not having alcohol leads to
restlessness, insomnia, anxiety along with physical withdrawal symptoms’ such as tremors, sweats,
stomach cramps and nosebleeds.

Health Dangers

We might use the unhealthy habit to help change how we feel about various parts of our lives or, it could be a habit we think we are in control of which then gets out of hand. The consequences are often poor health, poor finances, and difficulty in most relationships. This can go hand in hand with low self-esteem.

Usually, an unhealthy habit begins as a habit – a behavioural pattern that is not particularly damaging. Over time it can become more powerful and advanced, eventually interfering with a person’s quality of life and can become very harmful.

When someone reaches a situation of dependency there is often denial, ‘I could stop if I wanted to’,

they hide alcohol from loved ones, lie about usage, make excuses to drink. When you are dependant
you will probably suffer from low moods, depression, low self-esteem or self-loathing, resentment.
Still they continue to drink as they can’t perceive a life void of alcohol such is its hold and their state
of mind.

There are of course, all the health risk associated with excess alcohol consumption; Liver, kidney and
heart disease, cancer and mental health problems to name but a few.

Hypnotherapy

IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO TAKE BACK CONTROL AND IT IS NOT AS HARD AS YOU THINK!

I will use hypnotherapy to change the way you think and feel about alcohol. I will give you tools to
help on your journey of taking back control. I will be your coach as you embark on a new healthy
lifestyle.

I have seen how alcohol can destroy lives and I am committed to helping every individual who is
brave enough to admit that they have a problem controlling their drinking and reaches out for help
to overcome this affliction.

You already have the tools you need to solve your issues. Hypnotherapy can bring these tools out, even if other therapies have failed.

Multiple studies have shown that hypnosis alters the behaviours of the brain to be more susceptible to making changes, and I use it to induce positive ones in you.

These changes can help you tackle what you need with more strength and conviction than you’ve ever had before. You’ll be surprised.

HYPNOTHERAPY RESEARCH

A recent ‘Clinical Review’ of hypnosis and relaxation therapies published in the BMJ looked at the existing research on hypnosis and concluded that hypnosis was proven to be effective for treating insomnia. (Vickers & Zollman, ‘Hypnosis and relaxation therapies,’ BMJ 1999;319: 1346-1349)

“The hypnotic state makes the person better able to respond to suggestions. Therefore, hypnotherapy can help some people change certain behaviors, such as stopping smoking or nail biting. It can also help people change perceptions and sensations, and is particularly useful in treating pain“. – WebMD

Following an extensive review of the existing literature on hypnotherapy, the British Medical Association concluded that hypnotherapy was not only effective but may be ‘the treatment of choice’ in dealing with anxiety (‘psychoneurosis’) and stress-related (‘psycho-somatic’) disorders:

‘When you believe yourself to be master of your thoughts, you become so’.
